Mangaluru, November 9, 2025: Shabana Faizal, originally from Mangalore, has been ranked among India’s top 10 women philanthropists on the EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2025, emerging as the youngest on the list. At 53, she has donated ₹40 crore through the Faizal & Shabana Foundation, which she co-founded with her husband, Faizal E. Kottikollon.
The foundation focuses on education, youth development, healthcare, regenerative development, and community outreach, working with the vision of “Giving to Create Impact.”

Currently Vice Chairperson of KEF Holdings, a Singapore-based enterprise with global interests in infrastructure, education, agriculture, and investments, Shabana is also Director of Meitra Hospital, Kozhikode.
A psychology graduate from St. Agnes College, Mangalore, with a diploma in fashion design from NIFD, Dubai, Shabana began her career in male-dominated sectors such as steel and data entry before moving into business leadership.
Her recognition places her alongside leading philanthropists such as Rohini Nilekani, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, and Bina Shah.
The 2025 EdelGive Hurun report lists 191 philanthropists who together contributed ₹10,380 crore over three years, marking an 85% growth in charitable giving. Education remains the top cause, attracting ₹4,166 crore in donations.
