Mangalore: Minor incident lead to group clash at Ullal. 4 hospitalised.

Mangalore, April 21, 2013: A scene of group clash was witnessed near Ullal beach after a car hit a woman leading to abuses and stone pelting on April, 21, Sunday. Four persons including a woman hospitalized as result of conflict.

 

It is said that a woman was walking along the Ullal beach road with her two children, when a car passing by allegedly hit her. The woman fell and had sustained minor injuries. She screamed out of shock. The car was stopped by a group of people and heated arguments lead to clashes.

 

 

 

 

The argument between the woman and the driver aroused, when the woman was allegedly abused by the car driver, worsening the situation. It is said that the woman was teased by the driver and his friends igniting the trouble.

The situation worsened when the angry mob started pelted stones at two buses, injuring the drivers Loknath and Iqbal, who were later admitted to Netaji hospital.

Sources said that the mob also gathered at the Ullal police station demanding quick police action. It is said that when the police recorded a video of the mob, some of the protestors snatched the camera from the police. Two persons have been reportedly taken into custody.

The ullal Police and BSF men arrived in time and controlled the situation. The Car driver and others were taken into custody by the polce and the mob was dispersed. A case has been registered against the car driver for rash driving. Situation is under control.

However, knowing the history of Ullal’s sensitive nature, The police and other forces are taking  extra precautions to avoid flare up of the incident.
