Mangalore-Kasargod Women’s Special Bus launched

Mangalore, August 12, 2013: A women’s special bus  on the Mangalore-Kasargod route was inaugurated on August 12, Monday. The bus service has been introduced on a trial basis by the KSRTC.

The special women’s bus will leave Kasargod at 8 am and reach Mangalore at  9.30 am. Similarly, in the evening the bus will leave Mangalore at 6.05 pm and reach Kasargod at 7.30 pm.

 

 

The KSRTC which already runs 37 buses on the Mangalore-Kasargod route, decided to introduce the special bus for women  to avoid harassment of women in buses and also to bring in them a sense of security while travelling.

The KSRTC plans to extend such  services to other parts of the district, considering the response for the women’s special bus on the Mangalore-Kasargod route.
