Man held at Mangaluru airport for smuggling powdered gold mixed with Instant Kheer mix

Mangaluru, Oct 8, 2023: Officials of Customs Air Intelligence unit at the Mangaluru International Airport have intercepted a passenger from Dubai and seized 374 gm of gold in powder form worth Rs.20 lakhs.
According to officials, the passenger had arrived from Dubai via Air India Express flight IX814 on October 6th. The confiscated gold, which was of 24-carat purity and weighed approximately 374 grams, had been concealed within five packets of white powder.
