Maddadka masjid vice president loses post for attending Bharatha Gellisi rally

Mangalore Today News Network

Belthangady, Mar 6, 2014: M Abbonu Maddadka, the Vice President of the Noorul Huda Jumma Masjid  in Maddadka of Belthangady taluk might have not even thought that his attending the Bharatha Gellisi rally of BJP PM Candidate Narendra Modi would prove costly.

modiHe is now stripped of his post of masjid vice president  by the managing  committee for the sole reason that he attended the rally.

The action comes in the wake of a complaint lodged by a few local youth who had even demanded that he be banned from Jamaat activities for five years. However, the committee has decided to keep  Abbonu out of the Jamaat until the next annual general meeting.

Abbonu is also a member of Kuvettu Gram Panchayat and had earlier served as the Masjid President.  It has been gathered that the mosque had received a grant of Rs 12.5 lakhs and Rs 5 lakhs during the tenure of Yeddyurappa and Sadananda Gowda respectively. It has also received a grant of Rs 10 lakh after Siddaramaiah became the chief  minister.
