MLA JR Lobo launches Nirmala Mangaluru Abhiyana

Mangalore, Aug 22, 2013: Mangalore South MLA J R Lobo inaugurated the ’Nirmala Mangaluru Abhiyana’ , a part of ’Keep Mangalore Clean and Green Campaign’ by dumping waste into the dustbin near St Agnes College on August 22, Thursday.

The campaign was initiated by the Shivbagh Public Welfare Society. School and College students joined hands in this campaign.

Speaking on the occasion, J R Lobo said that keeping the city clean should start from one’s surrounding. Proper waste management helps to keep our surroundings clean, he said.

We can have a clean city when public lend a helping hand to the MCC, he said. The public must make sure that they dump organic wastes into the right bins so it can be recycled into fertilizers. The campaign requires the support of public to make it successful and the waste bins are sponsored by Louis Lobo, MD, Paramount Realty and Infrastructures, he added.

Corporators Naveen D’Souza, Sabitha Misquith,  Judith Mascarenhas, T K Sudhir, Nelson Montheiro, Cyril, Samartha, Shanthi, Mohan Mendon and others were present.
