Lokpal Bill insufficient to end corruption: Dr BM Hegde

Mangalore, March 30, 2013 : Dr B M Hegde released John B Monteiro’s book ‘Corruption- India’s Painful Crawl to Lokpal’ on March 30, Saturday.

Speaking after releasing the book, Dr Hegde said that the country is completely deluded by the corrupt. He said that the book is beautifully brought out and makes splendid reading. J B Monteiro has analyzed the malady to arrive at a final holistic solution to the cancer of corruption. The book has even highlighted various types of corruption, Dr Hegde said.

He also said that Lokpal Bill is not the enough to stop the widespread corruption in our society. It must work to create a new atmosphere and to educate the present generation and make society free from corruption. Stating that corruption is grown with a negative thought, he emphasized the need for schools to adopt the old system where the grade is not given importance.

It is such kind of education from the grassroots level that can reduce the extent of corruption, he said.

Fr. Swebert D’Silva, Principal, St Aloysius College, Mangalore, was also present.
