Karkala: Man arrested for threatening to kill youth Congress leader

Karkala, October 14, 2026: Hebri police have arrested a man from Chara village on charges of issuing death threats on social media against Youth Congress leader Inna Yogesh Acharya of Karkala.
The accused has been identified as Krishna Naik. Police took him into custody late on Sunday night.
Following his arrest, Krishna Naik reportedly developed health complications and was admitted to the Udupi District Hospital.
Naik, a former vice-president of Chara Gram Panchayat, has previously been involved in controversies over his statements.
A separate case had earlier been registered against him at the Hebri police station over an allegedly objectionable social media post stating, “Congress workers are born to Muslims.”
