Mangaluru: Pickup driver flees as Police seize vehicle carrying illegally transported sand

Mangaluru, October 15, 2026: Kankanady Town police have registered a case against unidentified persons allegedly involved in the illegal transportation of sand from the Netravathi riverbank at Adankudru on the outskirts of Mangaluru.
According to the police, personnel on patrol noticed a pickup vehicle transporting sand illegally from the Netravathi riverbank. When they chased the vehicle, the driver stopped it and fled from the spot.
The police have seized the pickup vehicle along with the sand.
