Mangalore, Oct 16, 2011: The Lions Club organized an awareness programme on traffic rules to prevent accidents in association with Bharath Auto Cars Pvt. Ltd. in Bejai on Oct 16 Sunday. DCP M Muthuraya inaugurated the event by unveiling a damaged car.
A. Sadananda Shetty, the chairman of Shree Devi Education Trust, said on the occasion that such events are essential because the number of accidents owing to carelessness and lack of awareness of traffic rules is on the rise.
Mayor Praveen released the hand bills on traffic rules. Sudhir Pai, the MD of Bharath Auto Cars Pvt. Ltd., released the ad video compact disc.
Ivan D’Souza, the secretary of KPCC; Praveen, the mayor of Mangalore; Ln. P. Kishore Rao, the governor of District 324-D5; Ln Agnel Rodrigues; Dharmaiah, the DCP for crime and traffic; Keshav Dharani, the senior inspector of RTO; and many others were present.
The damaged car unveiled by DCP Muthuraya was displayed opposite Bejai Church with banners aiming to enhance public awareness.
