Late Lokaiah Shetty Memorial Wrestling competition declared open at Karavali ground

Mangalore, 21, 2014: DK District Wrestling Association organized, ’Late Lokaiah Shetty Memorial district level Wrestling competition’ at the Karavali Utsav grounds on January 21, Tuesday.

 

 

 

Speaking after inaugurating the event as a part of Karavali Utsav, MLC Monappa Bhandary said that being a MLA Lokaiah Shetty had worked for the development of the Surathkal constituency.

He also said that that he always worked for the welfare of poor and the labour class and a good friend of every common man.

MLA J R Lobo unveiled the portrait of Former MLA Lokaiah Shetty. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Late Lokaiah shetty has given a tremendous contribution to the society in the field of religious, sports and social service. After his death his children have continued the sports and retained the coastal sport wrestling in his name.

Additional Superintendent of Police T P Shivakumar declared the wrestling competition open.

Former MUDA President Suresh Ballal delivered the presidential address.

Suresh Chandra Shetty, honorary President of the association, welcomed the gathering. 

Raghunath Shet, Proprietor of S L Shet Diamond House, Ganesh Shetty, Proprietor of Food land, M Sathischandra Shetty, M Kishore Chandra Shetty and others were present.
