July 26: The cancellation of Manthsyagandha express has been extended to third day due to the landslide mud clearing work on the railway track near Nivsar railway station, Rathnagiri. The repair work of railway track and removing of mud fell on the track will continue on Tuesday, July 27.


Landslide continues to halt Konkan Railway traffic


Heavy rains continued to batter the Rathnagiri area since Sunday night, due to which massive land slide has been occurring near Adivali Railway station which comes after Nivsar railway station. At least 11 trains have been cancelled and three others were diverted.


According the reliable sources from Konkan railway, Mangalore- Kurla (2620) and Kurla-Mangalore (2619) Express have been cancelled on July 26 while the passengers of Nethravathi-Rajkot express have been shifted from Adivali station to the nearest railway station through private buses.


Several trains from Delhi and Mumbai have been stranded midway due to the landslide. Some of the affected trains were Karwar Express from Mumbai to Goa, Kerala Express from New Delhi to Kochi, Ajmer-Arnakullam Express.


The movement of Mangala Express (Ernakulm-Nizamuddin) and Rajdhani Express have been diverted from actual route and instant arrangements were made to move through Madgao-Londa-Pune.
