He warned that a satyagraha will be launched if his demands are not considered, adding that a public interest litigation will also be filed in the High Court of Karnataka.
Addressing reporters after visiting Sowjanya’s house, the swamiji said that he had decided to visit Sowjanya’s house to console her grieving family. Sowjany’s father Chandappa Gowda said that he wanted the CBI to investigate this case because he is not happy about the investigation of the local police. Mr. Gowda feels that only one person is not responsible for the death of Sowjanya.
When the swamiji asked the family if they suspect anybody, if anybody had threatened them, or if they were involved in any property dispute, they said no.
Later, the swamiji told reporters that the family wants a copy of the report on the case, along with a copy of the FIR and Sowjanya’s medical reports. None of these documents were handed over to the family, he said.
He also revealed that Sowjanya’s family has been getting threatening calls ever since the investigations began.
Stating that he is the first religious leader to visit the family and express his support for them, he urged other religious leaders to also visit the family and support them.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, leader of Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV), alleged that certain influential parties have been preventing the police from investigating this case. He also demanded to know why there are so many cases of unnatural deaths in Dharmasthala and not in any other place. He also voiced his suspicion that Sowjanya could have been murdered somewhere else, in which case someone could be running a blue film racket.
He demanded that the police must submit their report within 15 days and said that people have the right to know if someone is influencing the police and preventing them from investigating this case properly.
Several HJV members visited Sowjanya’s house to console the family and support them.
