Kasargod, Sep 6, 2026: Manjeshwar police have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the stabbing death of a Karnataka-based labourer at Hosangadi Angadipadavu.
The accused, Ram Naik alias Ramesh (31) of Harapanahalli in Davanagere district, was arrested at Padil in Mangaluru on Saturday night while allegedly attempting to flee to his native place.

The deceased, Ramesh (38) of Linganayakanahalli in Hospet, was working as a daily wage labourer and residing at Angadipadavu. His body was found in the kitchen of the old two-storey house where he lived on Friday evening.
According to police, the accused and the deceased were friends and had been consuming alcohol when an argument broke out over a financial dispute. Ram Naik allegedly stabbed Ramesh in the chest before fleeing the scene.
Neighbours alerted the police after finding Ramesh dead. A post-mortem at Kasargod General Hospital confirmed a deep stab wound to the chest as the cause of death. The body was later handed over to the family for the last rites.
The arrest was carried out by a team led by Manjeshwar Inspector M V Vishnu Prasad, with assistance from Sub-Inspectors Shabareekrishnan and Arjun and police personnel Sudhakaran, Sajith, Rajesh and Jinesh.
