Kaup: Son of a businessman and Kambala organiser found dead near Shambhavi River

Kaup, Nov 7, 2025: In a tragic incident, the body of 29-year-old Abhishek Alva, son of businessman and Kambala organiser Naveen Chandra Alva of Vamanjoor Thiruvailuguttu, was found on the banks of the Shambhavi River at Hejamady in Kaup taluk on Friday (Nov 7) morning. Police have suspected suicide.
Abhishek, a well-known Kambala enthusiast, was actively involved in his father’s business and played a key role in making the Vamanjoor Thiruvailuguttu Kambala one of the most disciplined events in the region.
According to reports, Abhishek had dinner with his friends on Wednesday night and later went missing. His car was found parked near the Mulki Bappanadu bridge on Thursday evening. A missing person complaint had been filed at the Padubidri police station, and his body was recovered the following morning.
Police have suspected suicide based on preliminary investigation.
