US, Apr 27, 2026: US President Donald Trump has dismissed the “paedophile" charge by the shooting suspect in his manifesto, which he sent out to his family members before opening fire at the White House dinner and asserted that he did not rape anyone.
Trump also labelled the accused, Cole Tomas Allen, as “radicalised" and “anti-Christian" and called him a “pretty sick guy“.
“He did write that. I am not a rapist. I did not rape anybody. I am not a paedophile. You read that crap from some sick person," Trump said in his interview with 60 Minutes.
What Does The Manifesto Reveal?
The manifesto outlines a planned attack aimed at US government officials, detailing how the assailant intended to carry it out while claiming an effort to minimise casualties. Investigators are closely examining the text to understand the motive and assess whether any red flags were missed ahead of the incident.
The 31-year-old did not refer to the US president in the manifesto but reportedly listed his targets as “Administration officials", leaving only FBI Director Kash Patel.
However, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed that the gunman had planned to “assassinate" Trump and kill several high-ranking officials.
In his manifesto, Cole Tomas Allen wrote: “I am no longer willing to permit a paedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes."
“Like, this level of incompetence is insane, and I very sincerely hope it’s corrected by the time this country gets actually competent leadership again," he also wrote.
It also contains observations about security arrangements at the dinner venue. The attacker suggested he was able to enter with multiple weapons without raising suspicion, claiming that security personnel were primarily focused on managing protesters and monitoring arriving guests.
Trump’s Epstein Ties
Trump has been linked to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted paedophile who died by suicide in jail in 2019, and was mentioned in the ‘Epstein files’ as his guest. However, Trump denied any wrongdoing and said he had “nothing to do with" Jeffrey Epstein.
Earlier this year, the United States Department of Justice released additional documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein, which included unverified allegations made by a woman against Trump.
According to her claims, she was introduced to Trump through Epstein. She alleged that he assaulted her during a sexual encounter after she resisted his advances.
