Mangaluru, Oct 30, 2021: Inter-state bus services between Karnataka and Kerala  are unlikely to  resume at least during the next few days.

Though  messages are circulating in social media stating  bus services will resume on November 1, the district administration has said it was unlikely at least  for another week. The Covid situation in the neighbouring Kerala is said to be the reason behind the hesitancy of the Dakshina Kannada district administration to resume bus services. Kerala on its part has no objection to resume the bus services.

As physical classes have resumed in the coastal district, many students from Kerala find it difficult to attend the classes.

Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra has said inter-state bus services cannot be resumed unless positivity rate in Kerala falls below 5%. He said the administration will wait for a week and then take a suitable decision.
