Bengaluru, March 1, 2026: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday said the Karnataka government has initiated urgent measures to ensure the safety and return of Kannadigas stranded in Dubai and other Middle Eastern countries amid disruptions caused by the ongoing Iran–Israel conflict.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister said officials have been directed to take all necessary steps to safeguard those affected by flight cancellations and regional instability. He stressed that the safety and wellbeing of Kannadigas living or travelling in Israel, the UAE, Iran, Qatar and other parts of the region remain a top priority.

Siddaramaiah said he has consulted the Karnataka government’s Resident Commissioner in New Delhi to coordinate with central authorities and Indian missions abroad. A dedicated helpline will be set up to assist stranded persons and provide real-time updates to their families.
“We are closely monitoring the situation. Those stranded are advised to remain in safe locations until alternative arrangements are made,” he said, urging families in Karnataka not to panic as efforts are underway to establish communication and ensure their safety.
