Kannada translation of Sahih Bukhari released

Mangalore, Feb 4, 2012: M Sa’adullah’s Kannada translation of Sahih Bukhari, a book comprising the teachings of Prophet Mohammed, was released in Town Hall on Feb 3 Friday by Sheikh Mohammed Karakannu, the vice president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Kerala.
He presented the first copy to Ahmed Haji Mohiudeen, the president of BA Group.
Mohammed Kunhi, the manager of Shanthi Publications, addressed the gathering and said that Shanthi Publications attempts to create awareness regarding Islam in Karnataka. They are trying to eliminate misconceptions regarding issues such as polygamy, Jihad, and terrorism through their books, he said, adding that the importance of a religion can be understood only by properly understanding it.
A seminar on Islam was also held on the occasion.
Among those present were Mohammed Abdulla Javed, the president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hindi of Kerala; Mohammed Salin Nadvi, the principal of Iqra Arabic School; Saeed Ismail, the president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind; and others.
