Jan Lokpal Bill is very important - CM B. S. Yeddyurappa

Mangalore, April 9: CM B. S. Yeddyurappa, who is currently charged with illegal land deals and corruption, declared that the Jan Lokpal Bill is of great importance for good governance. He was addressing reporters at the Mangalore Airport where he had alighted before moving on to Kumble in Kasargod to participate in a public programme. 

 

 

Speaking of the importance of totally eradicating corruption in the country, he said that the time is ripe for the implementation of such legislation. He also said that the PM should convene a meeting of CMs as early as possible because the Jan Lokpal Bill applies to the entire country. 

Responding to a query regarding Endosulfan, he said that the ball is now in the court of the central government, which has to make a decision on the ban of Endosulfan.

District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar, ZP President Shailaja K. T., Mayor Praveen Anchan, Deputy Mayor Geetha Nayak, MCC Commissioner Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash, DC Subodh Yadav, SP Labhu Ram, Assistant Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalikatti, IGP (western range) Alok Mohan, and others were also present. 

The CM will return to Bangalore at 8:35 p.m. after attention various public meetings in Mulleriya and Varkady.
