Mangalore, Sept 26:  Making Mangalore green again and bringing back its lost flora and fauna is our aim said Ms. Leeza Rodrigues, Marketing Manager of JJ Infra addressing the students of St. Joseph’s high School Kankanady, during the Eco Club program of the school on September 22.

As a part of company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and on the occasion of the school celebrating its Silver Jubilee, the programme of planting the rare medicinal saplings in the school premises was held.


The program was sponsored by JJ Infra and was conducted by the Eco Club of the school. The intention of this programme was to create the awareness and love about nature in the minds of the young students and encourage them to actively part take in the conservation of the rare medicinal herbs.


Nowadays in Mangalore the trees are chopped down and the birds, butterflies, honey bees etc are rarely seen. In order to bring back the biodiversity every citizen of Mangalore city should plant at least a single plant and take care of it. JJ Infra has initiated this movement by encouraging the young students of schools and colleges by educating them about the need of greenery and biodiversity. JJ Infra’s aim is to plant one lakh fruit or medicinal trees in Mangalore and restore the natural beauty and biodiversity of the city.


JJ Infra is an infrastructure company serving the people of Mangalore and the places around Mangalore in the field of real estate, construction equipment, Project Management and Consultancy etc. The company’s all project site will have medicinal-herbal garden.

The Headmistress of the school Sr. Roshni Monteiro presided over the function, the Eco Club in charge Mrs. Sylvia D’Souza, the staff and students were present. The students of Eco Club presented street plays and songs relating to the conservation of the nature.
