JD (S) to announce candidate for Udupi – Chikmagalur by polls on Feb 27

Udupi, Feb 24, 2012: H. D. Kumaraswamy, the state president of the JD (S), said that the JD (S) will announce the name of its candidate for the Udupi – Chikmagalur by polls on Feb 27. 

The JD (S) leader had arrived at Kollur this morning to take part in a Chandika Homa at Kollur Shri Mookambika Temple, as part of his wife’s birthday celebrations. After his visit to the temple, he interacted with reporters in Udupi. 

Attacking former CM B. S. Yeddyurappa, he said that the former CM continues playing dirty political games, least bothered about the plight of 123 draught-affecting taluks in the state. 

While Yeddyurappa gives a deadline to the BJP high command to restore him to the post of chief minister of Karnataka, CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda makes public statements that he is confident of completing his term as the CM, said the JD (S) leader, adding that the BJP has now become the state’s laughing stock. Stating that CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda is morally unfit to be the CM, he said that he must step down from his post. 

MLA Anitha Kumaraswamy; Azeem, the president of the state minority cell of the JD (S); Mahendra Kumar; Deviprasad Shetty, the president of the district JD (S); Shalini Shetty Kenchanoor; and many others were present.
