JD(S) holds government responsible for resort attack

Mangalore, July 30, 2012 : JD(S) State Vice President Amarnath Shetty declared that wrong things are taking place in the district because of the apathy of the state government and the district administration. He was speaking at a press meet held by the district JD(S) at Hotel Woodlands on July 29, Sunday.

 

Condemning the attack on students attending a party in Morning Mist Home Stay on July 28, Saturday, he said that pro-Hindu outfits such as Hindu Janajagarana Vedike (HJV) and Bajrang Dal (BD) must be ashamed of themselves. The fact that district MLAs have given no statement regarding the attack proves that they are least interested in the welfare of the district, he added.

He also declared that the state government must ban HJV and BD if no action is taken against them.

Blaming the RSS, State JD(S) Secretary M. G. Hegde said that these incidents will continue if the prime accused is not arrested. Alleging that the culprits have gained courage because C. T. Ravi has been appointed as the district-in-charge minister, he also accused Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh of negligence.

State JD(S) Vice President Sushil Noronha, District Chief Secretary Shashiraj Shetty, Rathnakar Suvarna, and many others were also present.
