Indira Canteen Inaugurated at Bajpe

Mangaluru, Mar 15, 2026: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao inaugurated the newly constructed Indira Canteen at Bajpe on March 14.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the canteen was built to meet the long-standing demand of local residents. He stated that the government’s aim is to provide quality food in a clean environment at highly subsidised rates for the poor and common citizens.

He added that the Bajpe canteen marks another step towards achieving a hunger-free society and announced that the facility has been opened for public service from March 14.

Coastal Development Authority chairman M A Gafoor, Minimum Wages Advisory Board chairman T M Shahid, Deputy Commissioner Darshan H V, and Bajpe Town Panchayat president Lokesh Pujari were present.
