Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 26, 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a mix of weather conditions across coastal Karnataka over the next four days, with a Yellow Alert in place from April 26 to 29 for moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.
While rainfall is expected, heat and humidity will continue to persist in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, with the possibility of heatwave-like conditions during the afternoon hours.

The region witnessed moderate rainfall on the night of April 24, followed by mostly cloudy skies and intermittent sunshine on Friday and Saturday. Rain was also reported in parts of Byndoor late Friday night.
In Mangaluru, the maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 34.7°C, 0.3°C above normal, while the minimum stood at 25.3°C, slightly above the seasonal average. High humidity levels continued to affect daily life.
The IMD has advised fishermen and coastal residents to exercise caution during periods of thunder and lightning. Residents have also been urged to stay hydrated and take precautions against the combined impact of heat and sudden thundershowers.
