Heatwave alert: Temperatures to rise across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi till April 23

Mangaluru, Apr 21, 2026: A rise in temperature is likely across the district from April 21 to 23, according to a forecast.

The intensity of heat is expected to increase in Mangaluru, Ullal, Bantwal, Moodbidri, Puttur, and Kadaba regions. Similarly, temperatures are also likely to rise in Brahmavar, Hebri, and Karkala taluks of Udupi district.

The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has issued this alert, noting that temperatures in several parts of the district have already been exceeding 37°C in recent days.

With the possibility of intense heatwave conditions in these areas, authorities have advised the public to take necessary precautions.
