Mangalore, Dec 28, 2013 : The Hindu Jagarana Vedike organised a protest rally near the Sri Rajarajeshwari Siddi Vinayaka Temple here on December 27, Friday demanding stern punishment to the accused in the case of kidnap and blackmail of two medical students at Derlakatte. A bike and car rally was also taken out from Konaje to Talapady as part of the protest.



Addressing the protestors, Sri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Gurupur Vajradehi Mutt warned of severe protests if stringent action was not initiated against the perpetrators of the incident.
Alleging that there was a ploy to divide the Hindu community, the seer also said some forces were only trying to appease the minorities. He was also critical of the three ministers from the district for remaining silent on the issue.
Satyajith Suratkal, State Convenor of Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Sharan Pumpwell, Convenor of Bhajrangdal and others spoke.
