Mangaluru, August 24, 2025: Good for Good Charitable Trust has expanded its FutureFit initiative with the launch of a free, year-long STEM and Robotics program at DKZP Government Higher Primary School in Kallige village, Bantwal taluk, on Saturday, August 23, 2025. The program aims to provide rural children with sustained, future-ready learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, combining creativity with practical application.
The inauguration ceremony, presided over by Damodar Nettarakere, President of the School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC), began with a symbolic lamp-lighting by a girl student, reflecting the program’s focus on empowerment and opportunity.
The initiative covers all 50 students of Classes 6 and 7. Each two-hour session, held on alternate Saturdays, will be led by trainers from Dream Kit Innovation (DTi Labz Pvt. Ltd.), who will guide students through modules in coding, robotics, electronics, app development, and DIY projects. Students will work with Code.org, MakeCode Arcade, MIT App Inventor, and Dream Kit Snappies to create apps, robots, and interactive builds, culminating in a final exhibition to showcase their projects to parents and the community.
In her introductory talk, Trustee Sharmila Amin stressed the importance of STEM learning, saying, “When children start coding or building robots at this age, they begin to see challenges as puzzles they can solve. That confidence will stay with them throughout life.”
Principal Sylvia Braggs expressed gratitude to Good for Good Trust for selecting the school for this initiative. Trust President Akshay Suvarna thanked the school for integrating the program into its academic calendar, stating, “Good for Good Trust believes in going beyond short-term activities. This program is designed to create lasting impact by equipping every child with tools to think, innovate, and succeed in a technology-driven future.”
Teacher Mohini welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests. Also present were Trust Vice President Satyaraj, Secretary Eshan Anchan, Joint Secretary Sachith, PR Head Elden D’Souza, and Logistics Head Guru Moorthy.
With structured assessments, certification, and a year-end exhibition, the program promises both learning and recognition. For the children of Kallige village, it marks the beginning of a journey into the world of technology.
