Gangolli: Three fishermen missing after boat capsizes; one rescued

Gangolli, July 15, 2025: Three fishermen have gone missing after a fishing boat capsized near the Madi Lighthouse off the Gangolli coast in Udupi district on Tuesday morning. One fisherman was rescued alive.
The missing fishermen have been identified as Rohith Kharvi (38), Suresh Kharvi (45) and Jagannath Kharvi (43).
All of them had ventured into the sea for fishing when their trawl boat overturned due to rough sea conditions.
According to preliminary reports, heavy rains and turbulent sea conditions have been prevailing in the region for the past few days. The fishing boat reportedly got caught in strong currents and capsized, throwing all four fishermen onboard into the water. One among them was rescued.
A search operation is underway to trace the remaining three.
