Mangalore, June 21, 2024: A case has been registered at the City Central Police Station regarding a fraud of Rs. 50,000 under the pretext of providing an advertising agency.


Cyber fraud


According to the complaint, the victim was regularly checking for advertising companies on Google. On June 12, an unknown person called and spoke in Hindi, claiming to be from Haryana and discussing an advertising company. He promised to arrange an advertising agency from Haryana. After several calls, he asked for an advance payment of Rs. 50,000 to secure the agency, assuring that the money would be refunded if the agency was not satisfactory. Following this, the victim transferred Rs. 50,000 to the caller. However, the unknown person then switched off his mobile phone and defrauded the victim.
