Mangalore, Oct 22, 2013 :   An Associate Professor of the Fisheries College at Ekkur in Mangalore lost his life in an accident involving his  scooter and a tipper lorry on the NH 66 at Jeppinamogaru on October 21, Monday.

The deceased has been identified as  Iqlas Ahmed (54). The mishap took place at  around 5 pm when  Ahmed was on way  to his residence at Someshwara from the College. The tipper loaded with mud was proceeding towards Tokkottu and the driver all of a sudden took his vehicle to the extreme  left  knocking down Ahmed. Though he was immediately rushed to the hospital, he breathed his last there.  Mangalore Rural police have registered a case.
