First Wilfy Nite without Wilfy on Easter Sunday

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, April 23: United Youngsters, a group of musicians founded by Mr. Rebimbus, will present Tribute to Wify, the first musical show without legendary Konkani singer Konkan Koghul Wilfy Rebimbus, on April 24, Easter Sunday.

The logo of Rebimbus Creations, a company focusing on making Wilfy’s works available to a global audience, will be launched on this occasion. An anthology of short stories written by Wilfy as well as his 41st album titled “Tu Maka Hamv Tuka” comprising selected songs including a couple of songs written by his son Vishwas Rebimbus and daughter Veena Rebimbus will also be released.

The office of Rebimbus Creations, a brain child of Vishwas Rebimbus and his wife Charleen, is located opposite St. Joseph’s Poor home at St. Joseph Nagar in Jeppu, just a short distance from Wilfy’s home. The venture intends to display and sell the works of Wilfy, including his albums, a package of 40 albums of his songs, books, plays, short stories, and so on. Besides, Rebimbus Creations will design cards for occasions such as christening, wedding, first communion, anniversaries, jubilees, and other social functions. The company will also offer designer takeaways given to guests attending important events. These cards and takeaways are unique because they will contain the lyrics of Wilfy’s songs, giving customers the option to choose lyrics in any script—Romi, Kannada, Devnagari, or the English translation of the lyrics. Only products bearing Wilfy’s lyrics will be sold to the public. Besides, the family intends to conduct a number of shows and other musical programmes.

Although the logo will be released on Easter Sunday, the shop will become functional only from May 29, 2011. Vishwas says that he and his wife share a passion for music and designing and intend to channel it in a way so that they can not only carry forward their father’s legacy, but also quench their creative thirst. The couple also hopes to draw Meena Rebimbus, the wife of Wilfy Rebimbus, into the venture.
