Mangaluru: Bomb threat e-mail sent to Lourdes School; police conduct inspection

Mangaluru, Feb 27, 2026: A bomb threat email has been received by the prestigious Lourdes School in Bijai, Mangaluru. The threat was sent to the school’s official email address, following which a complaint was lodged with the police.

Personnel from the Kadri Police Station and the bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and carried out a thorough inspection. Recently, a similar bomb threat email had been sent claiming that a bomb was planted in the Mangaluru court premises. After verification, police had declared it a hoax.

It was later found that several court offices across the state had received bomb threat emails originating from Tamil Nadu. Around the same time, multiple schools in Bengaluru had also received similar threats.

Now, with the latest threat to Lourdes School in Mangaluru, police are continuing their investigation. They are probing who is behind the email threat. So far, no suspicious objects have been found during the inspection, police said.
