Fill potholes and remove unnecessary humps: DC Subhod Yadav

Mangalore, December 3: Subhod Yadav, the district commissioner of DK, directed concerned officials to remove all the unnecessary humps across roads within city limits as well as rural areas.

He was addressing a meeting convened to discuss issues of road safely in his office The officer bearers of lorry, private bus, auto rickshaw, and taxi owners’ associations were also present at the meeting.

He also directed the officials to paint scientifically constructed road humps with appropriate colors and to ensure the compulsory display of road signs in their jurisdiction.

He said that all government, charitable, and private schools should provide proper parking spaces to school vehicles within the school premises to avoid inconvenience to others. Potholes on state and national highways, especially in areas witnessing heavy traffic, should be filled up, he added.

The DC also directed office bearers of the Private Bus Owners’ Association to implement GPS speed controllers compulsorily in order to check rash driving on the part of private bus drivers in the city.
