Ullal: stepfather arrested for years of alleged sexual abuse of 17-year-old daughter

Mangaluru, Oct 20, 2025: A horrifying case has come to light from Kumpala, where a 17-year-old girl was allegedly subjected to continuous sexual abuse by her stepfather. Ullal police have arrested the accused under the POCSO Act.

The accused, Ameer (40), currently resides in a rented house at Mastikatte, Ullal. The victim lost her biological father in an accident when she was three years old. When she turned six, her mother married Ameer from Pavoor, and the family initially lived in a rented house on K.C. Road before moving to a rented home in the Kumpala area.

The abuse reportedly began when the girl was only seven. While sleeping at night with her mother, Ameer allegedly assaulted her. When the girl cried out, he is said to have gagged her and continued the assault. After this traumatic incident, the girl stayed at her grandmother’s house in Mukkachery, Ullal, and continued going to school from there.

Later, under her mother’s insistence, she occasionally visited her parents at the Kumpala rented house. During these visits, Ameer allegedly continued sexually abusing her repeatedly until she turned twelve.

When the girl turned twelve, she revealed the abuse to her mother, who allegedly silenced her, fearing social disgrace.

On Saturday, October 18, the girl suffered a mental breakdown, and her family admitted her to a private hospital in Deralakatte for treatment. During counseling, she disclosed the repeated sexual abuse by her stepfather to the doctor.

Based on the medical report and the victim’s statement, Ullal police registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested Ameer on Sunday.
