Mangaluru, March 13, 2026: There has been no disruption in the supply of domestic cooking gas in the district, and there will be none in the future, said Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Darshan H.V. He clarified that cylinders are being supplied according to the rule of one cylinder every 25 days, and there is no need for people to panic and book multiple cylinders. He also stated that such multiple bookings are not allowed.

The Deputy Commissioner was responding to questions from reporters on Friday at the DC office.

Strict measures have been taken to ensure that agencies do not stockpile excess cylinders at storage centers. Police have inspected storage facilities under the Mangaluru Police Commissionerate and the district police jurisdiction. Meetings have also been held with the General Managers and other senior officials of IOCL, BPCL, and HPCL. Steps have been taken to ensure that there are no supply issues not only within the district but also in supplies moving to Hyderabad and Tamil Nadu.

LPG is also being supplied from MRPL, and its production has not decreased, according to information received directly from the company’s Managing Director. LPG required by IOCL is also being imported. However, the supply of LPG for commercial use has been temporarily halted until guidelines are issued by the central and state governments. Efforts are being made at the government level to ensure that this issue does not continue for long. At present, there is no problem with domestic LPG supply, he said.

He further added that there will be no disruption in LPG supply to essential public service institutions such as hospitals, educational institutions, hostels, residential schools, military canteens, CISF units, and prisons. The district administration has also requested that LPG supply should not be disrupted for temple meal services (annadana), as well as for churches and mosques. A request for LPG supply has also been received from the railway station, and attention is being given to that as well, the Deputy Commissioner stated.
