Father-Son Duo Lose Lives in KSRTC Bus-Bike Collision on Mani-Mysuru Highway

Puttur, May 11, 2025: A fatal road accident on the Puttur-Mangaluru National Highway claimed the lives of a father and son at Kabaka on Sunday, May 11. The mishap occurred when a government bus collided head-on with a two-wheeler near Kuvettila, close to Kabaka, along the Mani-Mysuru National Highway.

The deceased have been identified as Arun Kulal (45), a member of the Narikombu Grama Panchayat, and his son Dhyan (15). Initial reports suggest that the bus was heading towards Puttur from Mangaluru, while the two-wheeler was coming from the Mani side.

The impact of the collision left both riders severely injured. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Arun Kulal succumbed to his injuries on the way. Dhyan, who was in critical condition, later passed away during treatment.

Police officials from the Puttur Traffic Police Station visited the accident site and have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
