Mangalore, Aug 19, 2013: A case wherein a youth was cheated by a fake job racket, stands exposed. The youth, it is learnt, had paid Rs 9500 to some contact who had promised a job, without any verification.
As per the youth, he had registered his name and had uploaded his resume with a reputed job portal and had on August 12 received an email from one Dhanraj Mehta under the letter head of M/s Larsen & Tourbo stating he was offering him the Executive Manager Post. The interview date was also fixed on September 2 and the email said the youth will have to remit Rs 9500 to a particular account as a security amount and that the same would be refunded after he appeared for the interview. The email also said that a call letter and air tickets would be sent to the applicant.
The youth who was elated, without bothering to verify had remitted the cash to the SB account number 33019304823 in State Bank of India in the name of Mahesh Kumar. However, the youth’s parents who suspected the intentions of Dhanraj Mehta verified the account number when it came to light that it was that of one Mahesh Kumar in SBI branch at Mangal Bazar, Khoda District Gaziabad, U.P.
The parents then contacted Dhanraj Mehta who refused to divulge details and disconnected the call. Efforts to contact him later proved futile and it became certain that this was nothing but an attempt to cheat job seeking youngsters in the name of well known companies. The account of Mahesh also revealed such cash transactions every day revealing that he might have cheated several youngsters.
