Explosion in crackers factory: Arrested 2 men remanded to police custody

Belthangady, Jan 30, 2024: The JMFC Court of Belthangady has remanded the two accused in the case of blast at an fire cracker unit, to  police custody till February 5.

It may be recalled here that Sayyed Basheer, the owner of the unit and Kiran were arrested in connection with the explosion at the  unit at Kadtyar in Goliyangady of Kukkedy village that claimed three lives.

The explosion took place when eight men were working at the fire crackers unit. Three workers  Swami (55) of Kerala, Varghese and Chethan (25) of Arasikere had died in the  fire.

The fire crackers unit named “Solid Fire Works” has been operating since several years and was supplying crackers for temple fairs and other programmes.
