Mangaluru, Aug 16, 2025: Expert PU College, Kodialbail, was abuzz with patriotic fervour as it celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day on campus. The chief guest, Ms. Geetha Kulkarni, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mangalore City Crime Branch, ceremoniously unfurled the National Flag before addressing the gathering.

Ms. Kulkarni began her speech with a heartfelt childhood prayer: “Hai Bhagwaan, hum tere bacche nadaan, pada likh kar hum bane mahaan, aisa do humein varadaan.” She reminded students that Independence is not merely a historical milestone but a daily responsibility. “Our ancestors’ vision went beyond political freedom—it was about building a progressive society rooted in strong values. Independence is not just a chapter in history; it is a living responsibility we must uphold every day.”

Highlighting the importance of character and integrity, she said, “The future belongs to those who lead with honesty and purpose. Carrying the spirit of the flag means fulfilling our duties with pride and dedication.”

Chairman Narendra L. Nayak reflected on India’s post-Independence challenges, from population growth to infrastructural constraints. He lauded the resilience of past generations who paved the way for today’s progress. “We have overcome immense challenges to reach where we are, but the journey is ongoing. Discipline and hard work must remain lifelong companions for those who wish to lead and serve the nation,” he said.

The celebration also witnessed the formal induction of the Student Council for the Academic Year 2025–26. Vice Chairperson Dr. Ushaprabha Nayak administered the Cabinet Oath to the newly elected members. In her address, she urged students to rise above limiting beliefs. “Slavery is not only colonial rule; it can also be a mindset that restricts growth. True freedom lies in liberating ourselves from such constraints,” she said.

The event was attended by Board of Trustees member Suresh Pai, IT Head Mr. Ankush N. Nayak, Yogaguru Yogarathna Gopalakrishna Delampady, and Principal Prof. Ramachandra Bhat, whose presence added to the significance of the occasion.
