Ex-Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat to re-marry on Oct 9

Udupi, Oct 8, 2013 : Raghupathi Bhat,  former MLA of Udupi whose wife Padmapriya met a suspicious death  in 2008, will be tying the knot for the second time. 

The two-time BJP MLA will marry  Shilpa Shastry of Barkur  on October 9 at 8.20 am at the Karamballi Venkatramana Temple.

This was informed by Bhat himself to reporters on October 7, Monday. He said he convened the press meet in the wake of rumours that are afloat about his second marriage.

He said the marriage has been fixed by the two families. Bhat informed that the wedding would be a private affair with only close family and friends participating

It has been learnt that Shilpa who will be tying the knot to Bhat is a divorcee and worked  at a co-operative bank. Her first  husband was  the son of an ASI, sources said. It is said Raghupathi Bhat saw Shilpa at a function.

Bhat also said that for the next two years, he would prefer to lead a peaceful life with his family by not actively involving in politics.

 Bhat has two sons from his first wife Padmapriya who died under suspicious circumstances.
