Mangalore, April 18, 2013 : Shashiraj Shetty, the former district general Secretary of the JD(S) who has recently quit the party has said that the JD(S) in the district cannot prosper as long as MB Sadashiva was its district chief.
Speaking to reporters here, he said the Mangalore South JD(S) candidate SP Changappa who filed his nomination was not a JD(S) member, but could get a ticket in exchange for cash.
He said he along with MG Hegde had joined the JD(S) two years ago hoping that they can strengthen the JD(S). However our efforts were not recognized, he said and claimed that while in JD(S) they had brought several youth to the party. He further alleged that senior JD(S) leaders Amarnath Shetty and MB Sadashiva were not happy with the induction of Nagaraj Shetty as well as Sadananda Shetty.
He said several JD(S) members including himself would be joining the Congress on April 20 in the presence of senior leaders like Oscar Fernandes and Janardhan Poojary.
Anil Saldanha, Rajiv Poojary, Harry Sequira, Rajesh Pinto, Akash Sullia and Jagadish Padpu were also present.
