Mangalore, Sept. 26, 2011: The Lions Club of Valencia and St. Agnes Special School jointly celebrated the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day in the campus of St. Agnes Special School on September 26 Monday.
A walk marathon was organized as part of the event, in which special kids from many special schools actively participated. The marathon, which commenced at St. Agnes Circle, ended at St. Theresa School Circle, after which it returned to St. Agnes Special School. A number of Lions Club members participated in this occasion.

Eunice Kennedy Shriver was the founder of the Special Olympics World Games, in which special kids from DK have won five gold medals.
Sister of John F. Kennedy, one of the previous presidents of America, and Senators Edward Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy, she established the Shriver Camp in the early sixties and the Special Olympics in 1968.
