Elderly woman loses way; stays for 3 days feeding on leaves in forest

Puttur, Mar 08, 2023: An incident wherein an elderly woman who lost her way and strayed into the forest, survived in the forest for three days by feeding on leaves, has been reported from Kaukrady.
The woman Aisamma (80) from Dontila near Hosamajalu had lost her way after visiting the house of a neighbour. She was traced in a forest about 4 km away from her house after remaining in forest for three nights and two days.
The woman was reportedly suffering from mental illness but used to visit neighbouring houses everyday and then return home. However she did not return home on February 28 following which a search was launched. It was on March 3 that a person who was on way to the milk society on noticing the elderly woman in the forest area had informed locals. Following this locals searched for her and traced her.
