Drunken driving : 3 injured as car rams into autorickshaw at Gorigudde

Mangalore, Aug 16, 2013: Three persons travelling in an autorickshaw were injured, one of them seriously when a speeding Maruti Ritz car rammed into the autorickshaw from behind at Gorigudde on August 15, Thursday midnight. The driver of the Car was allegedly drunk.

The three men in the autorickshaw were thrown into the road due to the impact of the collision. They were said to be from north east India who ran a mobile canteen selling Chinese food. All the utensils and other goods in the auto too were scattered on the road and the autorickshaw was badly mangled.

People, who gathered on hearing the crashing sound, thrashed the car driver leaving him with head injuries. Though an attempt was made to take him to the hospital in an ambulance, he jumped off the ambulance and managed to escape even when there was a large crowd around.

The car was also damaged. Pandeshwar police have registered a case.
