Udupi, Jan 27, 2012: Dr. G. M. Boralingaiah took over as the superintendent of police of Udupi district on Jan 27 Friday. Venkateshappa, the additional superintendent of police, handed over the post to Dr. Boralingaiah.
Dr. Boralingaiah of Madanayakanahalli in Maddur in Mandya got his MBBS degree from Mysore Medical College. An IPS officer from the 2008 batch, he served as the assistant superintendent of police in Tiptur sub division in Gulbarga district.
Interacting with reporters on the occasion, Dr. Boralingaiah said that he will give top priority to the development of Naxal-infested zones and to the communal problems in the district.
He also said that he will ensure that the upcoming Udupi – Chikmagalur by polls will be conducted peacefully. He also promised transparency in the police department.
