District BJP Mahila Morcha protests against corruption at centre

Mangalore, June 24: The BJP Mahila Morcha (district unit) organized a protest in front of the DC’s office against the UPA government for getting involved in various scams on June 24 Friday. 

In her protest address, Sumana Sharan, the general secretary of BJP District Mahila Morcha, said that the Congress is the source of all corruption and declared that the BJP will support Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare in their fight against corruption. 

Accusing Sonia Gandhi of stashing away India’s wealth in foreign banks, she urged the citizens of the country to fight against corruption and demanded the immediate declaration of black funds stashed away in foreign banks as national wealth, which should be used for the development of the country. 

Speaking on the occasion, Sushma Janardhan said that the Congress has been attempting to tarnish the image of BJP by playing all sorts of tricks for the past 3 years, adding that the Congress has failed miserably in its attempts. Accusing the Congress of trying to transfer India’s black money into Swiss banks, she urged that the money should be brought back to the country and used for its development.
State Mahila Morcha Vice President Sulochana G. Bhat said that the country’s black money should be used for the development of the country and accused the government of being reluctant to take steps against the accused. Although a number of countries have made moves to bring back black money from Swiss banks, the Congress government has still not made any moves. She said that the BJP will fight against this and will pressurize the centre to bring back black money from all those accounts. She also urged the UPA government to pass the Lokpal Bill to curb corruption in the country. 

Padmanabha Kottary, the president of the district unit of the BJP, Shakila Kava, Roopa D. Bangera, Taluk Panchayat President Bhavya, Belthangady ZP member Chandrakala, and many others were also present.
