Dharmasthala woman death case in Punjab registered as suicide

Belthangady, May 19, 2025: The mysterious death of 22 year old Akanksha, an aeronautics engineer hailing from Boliyar in Dharmasthala has been registered as a case of suicide. It is now learnt that Akanksha died by jumping from the fourth floor of a college building in Phagwara in Punjab.

It is learnt, Akanksha who had been to Phagwara to collect her certificate had reportedly gone there to meet a professor of Kerala origin with whom she was in love. A love failure is suspected to be the cause of the suicide.

It is learnt Akanksha had picked up a quarrel with the provessor Bijil Mathew who is a father of two children and hailed from Kottayam. She later even had a quarrel in the university and later jumped from the fourth floor as soon as she came out of Mathew’s office.

Based on a complaint filed by Akanksha’s brother, a case has been registered against Mathew in Jalandhar police station.

Meanwhile, allegations are heard that the professor was harassing Akanksha.  The deceased young woman is the daughter of Surendra and Sindhudevi couple from Boliyar.
