Mangaluru, Nov 25, 2025: The Mangaluru District and Sessions Court has granted bail to Chinnayya, the prime accused in the Dharmasthala village skull case, on a bond of Rs 1 lakh, subject to 12 stringent conditions.
The bail plea was filed by his advocate after the SIT submitted an interim chargesheet. Chinnayya, who was in judicial custody in connection with the Burude conspiracy case, had sought bail before the district court.
While approving the bail, the court instructed that the accused must not leave the district or court jurisdiction without prior permission. He is also prohibited from giving any statements or interviews to the media, including social media, about the case. The court directed that all conditions be strictly adhered to.
Chinnayya was arrested on August 23 following an extensive investigation in the Burude case. He was remanded to judicial custody on September 6 and later shifted to Shivamogga jail.
Bail Conditions Imposed on Chinnayya:
* He must not engage in similar offences in the future.
* He must not abscond or attempt to evade trial.
* He must not threaten, bribe or influence witnesses.
* He must not destroy or tamper with documents or evidence.
* He must cooperate with the investigation, appear when summoned and not obstruct the process.
* He must be present in court on all scheduled dates.
* He and his surety must submit valid address proof such as Aadhaar, voter ID or similar documents.
* Any change of address must be immediately conveyed to the court.
* He must provide his mobile number, WhatsApp contact, email ID and other contact details to the court.
* After his release, he must visit the police station on alternate days and sign the register until the chargesheet or final report is filed.
