Dharmasthala case: SIT-Arrested Complainant Chinnaiah Gives Voluntary Statement Before Magistrate

Belthangady, Sept 28, 2025: The recording of the voluntary statement of 45-year-old Chinnaiah, the complainant in the Dharmasthala case, was completed before the Additional Civil Judge and JMFC, Belthangady, on Saturday.

Chinnaiah, who is lodged in Shivamogga prison, was brought to court in the morning. His statement was recorded under Section 183 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita between 12 noon and 2 p.m. and later from 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.


Chinnaiah Gives Voluntary Statement Before Magistrate



He had been arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on charges of perjury for allegedly making false claims before the Magistrate on July 11. During the proceedings, Chinnaiah admitted that the statement and complaint he had earlier given were false and made under the directions of certain persons.

He also stated that the skull he had produced in court on July 11 was given to him by Soujanya’s uncle Vittala Gowda and his brother.
